3 Low Tech, Energy Boosting Tips

Go Low Tech and Get Tough

With a few low tech ideas you can get tough and have lots of energy. The holistic approach to energy building to sustain high level energy without the use of over stimulating substances can be as simple as lemon water and peanut butter.

Lemon Water and Peanut Butter

If you want to sustain high level energy, stimulants could be taking you in the wrong direction. One of the main concerns regarding energy drinks is the four and five teaspoons of sugar in them. Let's face it, there is no safe amount of this potentially lethal substance. The medical research is mounting against this most common food additive; sugar. It's like the smoking information, the medical research against it was fifteen years old before Doctors started telling their patients to butt out.

It seems like common sense, but the medical research on sugar is the same. There is no redeeming quality to this harmful additive.Schools are banning pop machines and other high sugar sources. You can be sure, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Staying away from commercial energy drinks can only add to your long term energy. Doctors are now saying that a simple glass of water with lemon juice can do much to activate a sluggish system. This balances ph levels making protein absorption more efficient. This is real sustainable energy. Medical research has also shown that a tablespoon of peanut butter and a glass of water, as unsophisticated as it sounds, can provide longer lasting, better energy than a cup of coffee. All of this sounds a bit unsexy, I know, but more and more people are starting to realize the solution to the energy crisis in your body can be dealt with by a little common sense.

The problem is, young people don't want common sense, they want sexy. That's why you're not likely to see an ad on TV for a glass of lemon water and a spoonful of peanut butter to replace high action commercials for energy drinks. This is the same reason that it takes medical research and common sense 15 years to get the attention of our Doctors. But stay tuned. Sugar, like nicotine, is coming down, big-time!

A Siesta

Let's get excited about a nap. It's proven to work wonders and most people would agree it would be a good idea. Getting it done is another matter. Same problem here; just too simple and not sexy enough, although it is still a tried and true tradition in many countries.

The power nap or afternoon nap can refresh and revitalize without adding any stress on the digestive system. Mental rejuvenation from a short nap is an energy boost that takes only a few minutes. Scientific research suggests that 20 minutes is a perfect amount of time. This ensures that you don't reach deep sleep levels that can result in grogginess and slow reaction times after waking. The research also says it is more effective than caffeine to deliver higher production levels and improved safety on the job. Hyundai automotive of South Korea gives its workers time for a nap as part of their daily work schedule.

Try it. It might just be something you can make a habit of. Its low tech, it doesn't cost anything for equipment and its environment friendly. There are a few kinks in the implementation of it, but with companies trying to squeeze more productivity out of a dollar it's bound to catch on soon. Get tough, stay ahead of the curve, and add a snooze to your "to do list" today.

"I am 'Pep', I am Vim and Vigor"

Short and sweet, get this phrase into your subconscious. With a little repetition you can build up a mindset habit that your body won't be able to argue with. It will be no time at all, and your actions will be reinforcing this simple "mantra". Energy knows no bounds when you change your mind and see yourself glowing with good health and a positive attitude. This easy to use, low tech, get tough phrase will revive you when you're feeling low.
