How to Focus Using Mind Power

Mind power is definitely potent, but it is also largely ineffective without another important component; focus. Our energies are like a stream of water from a hose or a geyser; it must be well directed in order for it to be useful. Imagine if the immense power from a volcano cold be harnessed, or the awesome power of a hurricane. I assume that if the power in these natural forces could be caged and redirected, the result would be tremendous. The power of the subconscious mind is similar to that. It is in fact far more powerful than that. The truth is that no force of nature can match the power of the human mind.

The average person however suffers from a chronic inability to properly direct his most potent power, instead dispersing it like the powers of a volcano. The destructive results in man's life are in actual fact, not dissimilar. It is not uncommon therefore to see a person who has so much potential fritter away that potential and end up living a mediocre life. The world is full of examples of people like this.

One major lesson from Peter's attempt to walk on water to meet Jesus Christ is that of focus. It is obvious that Peter had the ability, but then he lost focus. In order to walk the distance which he had before he started to sink, he must have had and indeed exhibited sufficient mind power to control the immediate circumstance. What Peter lost at that moment was his focus which in turn caused him to lose control of his mind power. If a man would grow his mind power to the extent that he begins to manifest greatness, then he must learn to focus. This means that his subconscious mind must be properly directed.

The mind is always looking for images to hold onto. When God created the world, He did so with a clear image in mind. The firmaments, birds of the air and beasts of the field including those of the sea were all manifestations of images held in the Mind of God. In order for you to focus using your mind power, you must give your mind a definite picture to hold onto. Take a desired goal for example and keep it at the top of your mind, holding onto it daily until your mind gets so acquainted to that image that you can see it without much effort. This simple exercise will help you focus using your mind power.
