There are many people who've convinced themselves that they can will events to occur, and chock it off to some new-age religion, perhaps even quantum mechanics, or holistic universe theory. Sounds interesting, but are these folks actually sane, and if they are then how on earth are they doing it? Not long ago, I was discussing this with an acquaintance on a philosophical level, without denying the absurdity of it all, merely mentally exploring the "what if" factor, and he stated; "Being able to requisition something from "nowhere" would be interesting - how about generating the ability to convert energy to matter wherever you please by sheer brain power."
Hmm, interesting thought indeed, well, I suppose, that this would assist an organism, thus not needing food, which is hard to come by and takes lots of energy in conversion. Theoretically, a bio-system can be created to convert energy, plants and sunlight for instance, and if that were enough energy to power up a 20-watt brain, or if the brain was completely insulated in its connections, could maximize the efficiency, well, gathering only 20-watts is rather easy.
"What are your thoughts on long-distance ion-lithium battery charging or Tesla's theories of energy transference using wave riders to send energy from one place to another," I asked and then explained that I believed it to be possible, and sending information back in time appears to be doable, so sending energy to a place in time ought to be also. In theory anyway.
My acquaintance stated that occasionally he felt as if he had the abilities to will events to occur, as other believe that they can and stated; "I think it would be interesting to duplicate my abilities in someone, I'm curious about the psychological aspect to see if they could handle it, or crack."
It would take a special kind of person to handle it and not crack, not everyone could handle it, I agree. The rush of increase in intellectual capacity would be awesome, especially if you took someone around 130-140 IQ and boost them to 180, holy crap, imagine the potential. Better yet someone of decent intelligence of 125, with a good memory, and take them to 165. Imagine what a team of people like that could do in a Think Tank.
Maybe that's what humanity really needs? They'd sure be considered dangerous to the status quo, they'd have to hide a bit, seriously, they'd make waves. But the advances could be intriguing. I wonder if they'd come to the conclusion that they didn't want anything to do with the 120 or less IQ people? It would be the difference between a Chimpanzee and a cat, see the problem, what is there to discuss or talk about?
Is it possible that we don't fully know the capabilities or maximum ranges of the human brain? Could be, an there could be folks amongst us with Human + abilities, anomalies and such, after all there are 7 Billion Humans on the planet, so there will be superior standouts, just due to the odds. Please consider all this.
